First Sydney lockdown 'clearly' didn't work: Minns

New South Wales Labor Leader Chris Minns says it is clearly evident the original Sydney lockdown did not work.

Greater Sydney is slated to come out of lockdown on July 30, however, with rising case numbers it is not guaranteed.

The initial lockdown was supposed to be a snap one targeting specific areas.

“We required further restrictions in Sydney. I’m sure the premier would acknowledge that herself,” Mr Minns told Sky News Australia.

“The key now is to make sure transmission in the community doesn’t extend beyond those three LGAs.”
