60 to 150mm is forecast for the Nelson region this Sunday to Tuesday while gales will impact Australia from coast to coast (Perth to Sydney) along the entire southern coastline and then into NZ by the end of Sunday and Monday/Tuesday.
The rough weather may impact flights in both nations (especially turbo-prop planes and smaller airports) with some highways impacted too.
In Nelson more rain is coming from Sunday to Tuesday - which may lead to further pockets of flooding and slips, which may also impact highways.
