Every year the government owes thousands of people money. It could be from uncashed payroll checks, old/forgotten bank accounts, inheritences, insurance policies, etc. However the government will not hunt you down to let you know if they owe you money, as we all know the government will hunt you down if you owe them money. When businesses are unable to locate the rightful owner of the money, by law they have to report the funds to the state, known as the "Unclaimed Funds" department. This money will sit here for years and years until the owner takes action to claim their funds. Visit www.missingmoney.com to search your name in the database. If you live in New York, Connecticut, Georgia, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, New Mexico, Wyoming, Iowa, Oregon, California or Delaware, you will have to do a google search "(state) Unclaimed Funds" because last time I checked, these states do not report unclaimed funds information to missingmoney.com, but each and every state has an official website and all you need to do is search links relating to "unclaimed funds" or "unclaimed property" good luck! Give it a try, the government owes thousands and thousands of people money, and best of all, these searches are free. You never have to pay any money to the government to claim what is already rightfully yours. Leave me comments, tell me if you were successful in retrieving money :) Check out this link for more ways to find unclaimed cash:
