HOW TO WHIP A ROPE - WHIPPING CORD ENDS - SURVIVAL SKILLS - BUSHCRAFT 101 - Five Elements Tactical

The fraying ends of rope or cordage can destroy a valuable resource. Knot tying, lashings, bends, and hitches, all rely on properly functioning rope or cord. In order to maintain the integrity of the cord, its important to seize the ends prior to cutting them, to keep the ropes and cords in good working order.

In this video, Kyoshi Dave Herman, of Five Elements Tactical Training, shares some easy to learn skills on how to WHIP CORD ENDS. You'll need some bank line, your rope or cord, a lighter, a knife, and some sort of baton. Similar to how you cut and seize the ends of paracord or 550 cord, Kyoshi will show you hw to keep the ends from fraying when you want to cut off a length of cord.

These skills are extremely useful in survival training, emergency preparedness, disaster preparedness, and prepping in general. If you're using ropes and knots for bushcraft, boating, rappelling, rock climbing, firefighting, etc. follow these tips to keep your ropes in proper working condition.
