Searching For The Ghost

Searching For The Ghost

If we ever see a ghost, it would be a Neutrino. As you are watching this video 100 trillion Neutrinos are passing through your body every second. Neutrinos are an abundant particles in space and yet they are the hardest to observe. No one really knows the mass of a Neutrino but it is at least a million times less than an Electron.

Due to its smaller size and almost zero mass neutrinos barely interact with matter, and pass through. Super-Kamiokande is a neutrino observatory located 1,000 meters underground in the Mozumi Mine, Japan. Neutrinos were observed here on February 23, 1987. Due to a supernova explosion occurred in the Large Magellanic Cloud bombarding our planet with a large amount of Neutrino. Surprisingly, at the same time scientists observed Neutrino at 3 different observatories.
