ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্ট কি?
সিমিলার কনটেন্ট দুইটি আলাদা আলাদা ওয়েব সাইটে থাকা অথবা একই ওয়েবসাইটের দুইটা আলাদা পেজে একই কন্টেন্ট থাকাই হল ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্ট।
ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্ট SEO তে কেমন প্রভাব ফেলে?
সাধারণভাবে গুগোল কখনোই ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্টকে রেঙ্ক দিতে চায় না.
গুগল সব সময় ইউনিক কনটেন্টকে ইনডেক্স করার চেষ্টা করে এবং সেটা ইউজারকে দেখায়। সুতরাং আপনার সাইটে যদি ইউনিক কনটেন্ট না থাকে তবে আপনি গুগলে রেঙ্ক পাবেন না।
আপনার সাইটে ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্ট থাকলে আপনি তিন ধরনের সমস্যায় পড়তে পারেন –

Fewer Indexed Pages
Less Organic Traffic: গুগল ঐ পেজকে রেঙ্ক দিতে চায়না যে কপি কনটেন্ট ব্যবহার করে ঐ সকল সাইট বা পেজ থেকে যারা ইতিমধ্যে গুগলে ইনডেক্স আছে।
আর হ্যাঁ আপনার সাইটের দুইটা কনটেন্ট যদি একই থাকে তবে এটাকেও গুগল ডুপ্লিকেট কন্টেন্ট হিসেবে দেখবে।
উদাহরণস্বরূপ বলা যায় আপনার সাইটে যদি A, B and C নামে তিনটা একই কনটেন্টের পেজ থাকবে তখন গুগল বুঝতে পারেনা আপনার সাইটের আসল কন্টেন্ট কোনটা। এক্ষেত্রে আলাদা আলাদাভাবে তিনটা পেজই রেঙ্ক করার চেষ্টা করে।

Penalty (Extremely Rare): গুগল বলেছে duplicate content এর জন্য সাইট penalty খাইতে পারে বা complete deindexing হতে পারে। যাইহোক এরকম ঘটনা খুব বেশি ঘটে না। এটা সাধারণত তখনই ঘটে যদি কেউ উদ্দেশ্যমূলকভাবে কোন একটা সাইট থেকে অনেক কনটেন্ট কপি করে।
So if you have a bunch of duplicate pages on your site, you probably don’t need to worry about a “duplicate content penalty.”
Fewer Indexed Pages: This is especially important for websites with lots of pages (like ecommerce sites).
Sometimes Google doesn’t just downrank duplicate content. It actually refuses to index it.
So if you have pages on your site that aren’t getting indexed, it could be because your crawl budget is wasted on duplicate content.
Best Practices
Watch For Same Content on Different URLs
In other words: pages on your site are multiplying on different URLs.
This is the most common reason that duplicate content issues pop up.
For example, let’s say that you run an ecommerce site.
And you have a product page that sells t-shirts.

If everything is setup right, every size and color of that t-shirt will still be on the same URL.But sometimes you’ll find that your site creates a new URL for every different version of your product… which results in THOUSANDS of duplicate content pages.

Another example:
If your site has a search function, those search result pages can get indexed too. Again, this can easily add 1,000+ pages to your site. All of which contain duplicate content.
Check Indexed Pages
One of the easiest ways to find duplicate content is to take a look at the number of pages from your site that are indexed in Google.
You can do this by searching for site:example.com in Google.

Or check out your indexed pages in the Google Search Console.

Make Sure Your Site Redirects Correctly
Sometimes you don’t just have multiple versions of the same page… but of the same SITE.
Although rare, I’ve seen it happen in the wild many times.
This issue crops up when the “WWW” version of your website doesn’t redirect to the “non-WWW” version.
(Or vice versa)
This can also happen if you switched your site over to HTTPS… and didn’t redirect the HTTP site.
In short: all the different versions of your site should end up on the same place.
