A game where Rich Hill delivers a terrific start on the mound and the Mets' bullpen goes the rest of the way scoreless should be one the Mets are expected to win. Tonight, however, the hitting, not just with runners in scoring position but overall, simply was not good enough as the Mets brought just one run across the plate to loss their fourth in a row by a score of 2-1. The Mets' shortcomings, especially with the Braves earning another win, are now on full display as deadline moves are beginning to make a difference, an area where the Mets clearly did not do enough.
