Christian Ought to Live by FAITH

Title: Christian Ought to Live by FAITH
Text: Psalm 34:1-10
Introduction:
Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Psalm 34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Believers are to live by faith not by fear. Several times in the Bible, it tells us that “the just shall live by faith”
Luke 1:50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
The only fear should exist in your life is that you fear God with holy, reverence and godly respect to the Almighty God.

I. Fearing the Lord. Ps.89:7,
Psalm 89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
We are not to treat God as just as our buddy” but He is Holy, Almighty, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent and we are to respect Him and fear Him in that regard. We must reverence God of who He is!
The Bible tells us that we ought to always have reverent fear of the Lord and of who He is and recognizing His awesome power, the fool lives without the fear of God.
And when he does not fear God, or does not believe in God’s existence, the Bible calls him a fool.
Romans 3:11-18
When you don’t fear God, you don’t want any controls over your life that makes life peaceful.

II. The Fear of Man.
Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Mark 14:43-50
The fear of man causes them to forsake the Lord in the hour of the Lord’s greatest need.
The bible says, fearing man brings a snare it comes upon you unexpectedly and it happens without you being able to do anything about it.
Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Matthew 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

III. Fearing things.
Some living in fear of what might happen, they tremble and are full of anxiety afraid of what might happen.
In the believer’s life, fear is a sign of a lack of faith in God, we are to live by faith and not by the fear of what might be held in the future that we might have to face.
Matthew 6: 25-30
We are to depend on God to supply your need we have the promise that if you live for God and serve God as Christian, He is going to take care of us. That is faith, instead of living in fear and of what might happen in the future.
Revelation 2:8-10 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 9I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 10Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
