OMGGGG. SOME OF THE ALL TIME WORST WATCH ADVERTIZEMENTS I HAVE EVER SEEN. From the 1980's - 2019, the watch advertisements are JUST AWFUL OMGGGGGG hahaha. They did NOT AGE WELL AT ALL!
We are specifically looking at some particularly sexist ones from IWC (man, the 1980's was a strange time!), and a couple from Mariner (whoever the heck they are).
It's amazing how things CHANGE & adverts that were a bit cheeky in the 1980's are now, FULL ON, UNACCEPTABLE! And how people will use shock value to try to get your attention and get their names out there (yeah, you Mariner, we see you).
Now, I want to clarify I am not trying to CANCEL ANYONE. I really freaking hate cancel culture! So please, please do not interpret this as "Cancel IWC". If there's one thing I HATE it is measuring who we used to be & things that used to be acceptable against what is acceptable now. Things change, time evolves, & what is culturally acceptable now is different than what was acceptable in the 1980's. Yes, the adverts are sexist. But it was a different time. We learn, change, grow and evolve & isn't that what we want?!
