New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate Diwali with Indian Army jawans in Jammu and Kashmir. The PM will travel to a forward area in the Naushera sector of Rajouri district in the union territory of J&K tomorrow (Thursday, November 4).
It may be noted here that PM Modi has made it a tradition to celebrate his Diwali with soldiers since taking the office in 2014.
The Prime Minister had travelled to the Longewala border in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer last year to celebrate Diwali. He had lit diyas with jawans during the celebrations.
The PM had travelled to the Line of Control in Rajouri district in 2019 as well to mark the festival of lights.
PM’s present at LoC will give a boost to the soldiers' morale as they battle terrorists. It may be noted that guns have fallen silent along the LoC following the ceasefire that was put in place by India and Pakistan earlier this year. However, the proxy war continues with the rise in terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley as life returns to normal following the lifting of COVID-19 curbs.
