Sometimes The Blessings Come After We Think It’s Over | Never Give Up On Trusting God!
Paul and David were best friends, right from kindergarten. They attended the same Church and literally did everything together and at the same pace. They were both brilliant and did well generally. Paul graduated, got a very good job and married a while after that. Things were going on fine for him but the same couldn't be said about David. After graduating from college,he applied for various jobs but was never selected. He tried starting a business but it came crashing down about a month after. He had always fancied David's sister but was shocked when she invited him to her wedding. He was tired and was on the verge of giving up. People around him also weren't helping matters, always asking when he would get a job and settle down. He thought that all hope was lost and contemplated committing suicide but was one way or the other always rescued. One fateful day, after months of being uncertain and doubting God's goodness,he received a phone call from an unknown number. You probably know the rest of the story by now. It was a story of grass to grace and No, nothing happened to Paul's life,he continued enjoying the blessings of God and so did David.
For you, the above story might be relatable or not but one thing is certain;there have been times when it seemed like God was probably acting dead and things just weren't working well for you. It could have been as regards your health, finances, academics or any other thing that makes man disturbed. Yours might be happening right now, nothing seems to be going well and you really want to throw in the towel. All that God has told you seems to be unreal and you are starting to forget those promises. This is God's word to you: Don't give up on trusting him. Remember the children of Israel, they were in bondage in Egypt for 430 years and it seemed like there would be no end to it. God sent a deliverer,Moses and by this man, they were delivered. Only for them to get to the Red Sea. I want you to take a minute and imagine how they felt. Pharaoh and his Soldiers were coming behind and a large body of water, not a stream, was right in front of them. They must have thought that was the end of it all but alas,God had other plans. The miracle at the Red Sea still remains one of the most outstanding miracles recorded in the Bible. The story is a perfect depiction of receiving a blessing when it looked like it was over.
The human mind is wired to believe what it sees and what seems logical so if someone walks up to you and says that there's a chair on your head, you would argue and deny it vehemently. There are so many other examples that attests to the fact that the average man is ruled by what he sees and considers it as final. However, the christian faith isn't one in which we see all that we ask for immediately or that can be explained 100% logically. When the message of the Gospel was preached to you, did you see Jesus dying on the cross or his resurrected self? No! You simply believed that he died for you and rose again for your justification. If simply believing is how you became a partaker of this life, why should you expect the living of the life to be any different? You have been called to a life of complete trust in God.
The word of God is so beautiful, such that,it causes you to study the lives of different men and women who walked on this Earth like you and were faced with various challenges. Recall the story of Hannah, she was mocked and considered barren by all but when her blessing(Samuel) came,he was more valuable than 10 sons. Man is limited by time, meaning, you don't know the future because of the factor of time so man lives everyday of his life anticipating the next day but not having a full grasp of what it could bring. God isn't like that,he exists outside time so he knows the end from the beginning, which means your idea of times or seasons might be different from how God sees it. So,you prayed for a promotion 2 years ago and you still haven't gotten it and it looks like God didn't hear your prayers, when in reality, his idea of time differs from yours and maybe, just maybe, your promotion is supposed to come at a time that would accompany other things like a more stable marriage, better service to God,etc. May you be able to discern God's timing so that you would align yourself to it.
