11 civilians were killed after security forces allegedly fired at a vehicle in Mon district of Nagaland during an anti-terror operation last night. News agency PTI reported that the civilians who were daily-wage labourers were killed when security forces fired at the pick-up van they were boarding. The agency reported that the 11 civilians were killed on the spot while some succumbed to injuries in hospital. A probe has been ordered by state government and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has termed the incident unfortunate. In a statement, Indian army regretted the loss of lives in the firing and said it has ordered a probe into the incident. Watch this report for more.
