The Gift Given to Visionary Mirjana of Medjugorje of Pope John Paul II

In this video we share The Gift Given to Visionary Mirjana of Medjugorje of Pope John Paul II.

The Holy Father was convinced of the goodness of the Marian phenomenon in Medjugorje, but for ecclesiastical reasons he could never go there.

Pope John Paul II has always been linked to the devotion of Our Lady, just think that after the attack suffered on May 13th, 1981, he claimed that the intervention of the Blessed Virgin deflected the blow and the bullet extracted from his body is embedded in the crown of Our Lady of Fatima.

It therefore would appear unusual that Pope John Paul II would not observe carefully what was taking place in Medjugorje.

Didn't the Holy Father believe in the veracity of the apparitions?

During a meeting with Indian Bishops in 1993 he said: "Medjugorje is the spiritual center of the world".

But not only that, on the messages he claimed: "These messages are the key to understanding what is happening and what will happen in the world".

The reason why he did not express himself publicly in this regard is because the Church never pronounces itself on supernatural phenomena before they are concluded.

Furthermore, the results of the commission in charge were expected in recent times.

Results that came after his death and that concerned only the first 7 appearances of Our Lady.

An important testimony on the affection that Pope John Paul II had towards Medjugorje was provided by visionary Mirjana.

The visionary, interviewed by 'Radio Maria', explained that she had met the Holy Father during a pilgrimage to Saint Peter's.

The Pope blessed her and when Mirjana's companion revealed to him the identity of her friend, he went back and blessed her a second time.

A few hours later he invited her, by letter, to join him in Castel Gandolfo the following day.

On that occasion he said to her: “If I were not Pope I would have already come to Medjugorje for years.

I know everything, I follow everything.

Protect Medjugorje because it is the hope for the world; and ask the pilgrims to pray for my intentions“.

Some time after the death of Pope John Paul II, a close friend of the late Pope went to Medjugorje and after finding Mirjana he told her:

"Once I told the Holy Father that if he couldn't come I would bring his shoes, so he could walk on the land he loved so much.

I had to keep my promise”.

In her hand she was holding Pope John Paul II's shoes which today belong to Mirjana and that she has under glass in her home.
