Different questions are being raised by fans and followers of Dr John Watts are flooding his series of hugely popular educational videos with queries related to hair transplants and hair growth issues.
In this educational video, noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad Dr John Watts answers select shortlisted questions of viewers related to hair growth, hair hall and hair transplant.
VSSS asks: “I have been using Kunkudukai for my hair. Can you advise which brand of Kunkudukai shampoo is good and how to use it properly for better results?
In his response, Dr John Watts tells VSSS that there are several Kunkudukai (Soapnut) enriched shampoos such as Nyle & Meera is also called voluminous shampoos that are easily available in the market. These shampoos add volume to the hair through water retention.
However, Dr John Watts said that frequent use of Soapnut shampoos is known to damage the hair cuticle. “To avoid damage to the hair cuticle, which is a protective layer, one must use any brand of herbal hair conditioner. Keep the herbal hair conditioner on the scalp for two minutes and rinse off with water for better results,” he advised.
Jai Bheem asks: “Sir, during summer, I and my friend shaved our heads. While my friend’s hair regrew within two months, my hair has not even grown properly even after 4 months. I do not have any baldness issues. Is there anything wrong? Please explain.
In his response, Dr John Watts asked Jai Bheem not to compare with another person’s hair growth as the hair growth cycle of each individual differs from another due to several reasons such as genetics.
“You should not worry due to delayed hair growth after shaving your hair unless there is poor hair growth and hair fall or there is poor hair growth & you have family baldness or there is partial hair growth. For these reasons, it is better to consult a dermatologist,” advised Dr John.
Vinod Muta asks: “One beauty centre has advertised a hair oil claiming that there would be hair growth in 16 days. Shall I use it?
In his response, Dr John Watts advised Vinod Muta not to believe in magic remedies as they may be using steroids as ingredients. “Even after you shave your hair, there is no possibility for hair regrowth in 16 days. This is a lie. Better to avoid such products and before using them look for the credibility of the manufacturer and ingredients. Such products may contain irritants or steroids that may damage your hair,” warned Dr John.
Anand Kumar asks: “Will application of Minoxidil & Finasteride lead to lower sperm count”?
In his response, Dr John Watts told Anand Kumar that if topical application of Minoxidil and Finasteride is used there won’t be any impact on the sexual functions or the sperm count. “Presently, there is no report about it in the scientific literature,” he informed.
