Victoria’s COVID-19 Response Commander Jeroen Weimar has announced a change to the state’s quarantine rules from this Thursday.
Fully vaccinated people will only be required to do seven days quarantine if identified as a primary close contact, a considerable decrease from the previous quarantine period of 14 days.
Primary close contacts, over six days of quarantine, with both doses of the COVID-19 jab, will be able to finish on Thursday if a negative test is returned.
Mr Weimar says the changes are due to “two-thirds of adult Victorians being fully vaccinated, and because of the far lower risk of both contracting COVID and passing on COVID”.
